Full source code access
All commercial and academic license holders also receive full access to the JIRA source code (under a developer source license). This gives you the flexibility to build what you need when you need it, as well as versatility to use the product in the environment of your choice.

A thriving community
The JIRA community has been joined by a number of fine developers who have extended, enhanced, or just hacked JIRA to do things that have surprised even its creators.

Join the active community by subscribing to the JIRA user mailing list, and/or via our online forums.

There are also plenty of examples, tools and pre-built plugins available on our public JIRA Plugin Library.

Agile, responsive development
JIRA is developed in full view of its users - you get to influence how JIRA evolves. Our public issue-tracker gives you a forum in which to report bugs and keep watch on the progress being made on issues that interest you. All our JIRA developers are active on the mailing list and on our public Confluence site.

We release new versions of JIRA at an aggressive pace. The last twelve months have seen several major releases and a number of minor updates.

We rapidly integrate your feedback into JIRA. Our loyal user community makes JIRA better every day with their suggestions, critiques and input. We work to make them happy.

Atlassian prides itself on its relationship with the open source movement. We utilise proven open source products to deliver brilliant software at a fraction of the price of our competitors.

In turn, we regularly give back to the projects we use: contributing code and improvements to the components we use and also offering any established open source project free licenses to our products.
